ROCKESTRA SATURDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER 2009 AT 2000HRS AT MFCC TA’ QALI
ROCKESTRA is a rock concert by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra organised by the Malta Community Chest Fund to raise funds.
The concert, under the music direction of Sigmund Mifsud will be including works by groups such as Queen, Beach Boys, Eagles, Led Zepplin, Beatles and Deep Purple amongst others. Besides a number of instrumental pieces performed by the orchestra, a number of local artists will be having a unique experience by performing popular pieces together with 65 musicians of the philharmonic orchestra.
Local artists include: The Riffs, Jotham Saliba of Scream Daisy, Soprano Claire Caruana, Claudia Faniello, Alex Bezzina, Raquela, Neville Refalo, Daniel Cauchi, Ruben Zahra, Paul Borg Bonaci of Fakawi and DJ Owen.
One of the main attractions will be the High Power Projections by Ross Ashton, who is known to the Maltese public island for designing the spectacular projections and images on Fort St. Angelo as part of Malta’s celebrations following its accession to the European Union in 2004. During the concert, those present will be able to assist to a fantastic experience of video images and projections enhancing the versatile rock music programme.
The concert is being held under the distinguished patronage of The President and Mrs Abela. Tickets at the prices of €10, can be bought on www.rockestra.org, the Embassy Shopping Complex and Millennium Stand Ta’ Qali. Children of twelve years of age and under, accompanied by adults enter for free.
